About UC Khmer

UC Khmer is a web based tool that allows conversion from documents written in legacy fonts to Khmer Unicode compliant documents.

We refer to legacy fonts for all available Khmer fonts that are not Unicode compliant. Legacy fonts were commonly used in Cambodia prior to the release of Khmer Unicode standards based fonts, and till a certain extend still are in use today for various reasons, even though Unicode compliant fonts have significant benefits compared to legacy fonts. UC Khmer can convert the documents which contain one or more of the following legacy font series:

  - Limon
  - ABC
  - Khek
  - FK

UC Khmer Unicode convertor instructions

Thanks for using UC Khmer, the Khmer to Unicode Font conversion tool. This web based software tool was designed to help the Cambodian community with the conversion of text based documents that are written in legacy fonts.

• Copy/Paste the text you wish to convert into a MS Word 2007 document. You can recognize a MS Word 2007 document by its file extension of ".docx", i.e. "somedocument.docx".
• Click the button "Select document…" below on this web page and select the MS Word document you created in the previous step from your local computer.
• In order to convert multiple documents at once, please combine documents you wish to convert into a single .zip file and select this zip file after clicking button "Select document…". All documents enclosed in the zip file will be converted automatically.
• Click button "Next >" and follow the onscreen instructions.

Note that we are working on a newer version of this tool that supports MS Word 2003 documents.

Privacy statement: your documents will be treated strictly confidential. Uploaded documents will be deleted automatically after you have downloaded the converted document. If you do not download the converted document it will be deleted automatically after 24 hours.
